Converse County Conversations: Exploring the People and History of Douglas and Glenrock, WY
My dad was a cowboy poet who could tell you the history of every run-down barn and ghost town we passed in Utah, but when I moved to Wyoming and he passed away, I realized I didn’t know the stories of my own new home. That’s exactly why I finally stopped procrastinating and launched Converse County Conversations, a video podcast dedicated to the people and legends that make our community special. It’s about more than just real estate; it’s about the ranches, the small businesses, and the deep roots that connect Glenrock, Douglas, and every dirt road in between.

I’m Trading Perfection for Perspective
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I’ve talked about starting this for over a year. I wanted it to be perfect—the lighting, the sound, the “Realtor” polish—but I realized that while I was waiting for “perfect,” our local stories were waiting to be told. People and their histories are what truly root a community, and I didn’t want to lose the chance to record the wisdom of the neighbors who built this place. With the help of Tyler at Heights 307 and Johnston Realty, I got behind the mic to keep a record of the folks who make Converse County feel like home. It is a great start and it will keep improving as we go.
Meet Your Neighbors: The First Few Conversations
We aren’t just talking to “big names”; we are talking to the people who are the heartbeat of our towns. The first few episodes of the podcast feature a range of perspectives that show just how diverse and hardworking our area is. Whether you’re listening while driving to Casper or watching from your porch in Rolling Hills, these stories are for you.
A Few of Our Upcoming Guests:
Blanche Faunce: A local Glenrock business owner who is entering a well-deserved retirement. The heart behind Grandma’s House.
Dennis Switzer: The voice we all know from our local radio stations
- Heath Hayes: The Glenrock High School Football and Track Coach.Talking community, sports, and mentorship.
Dr. Kenzie Mares: Keeping our animals healthy as a local veterinarian.
Tyler Johnston: A third-generation Converse County real estate agent and business owner with a wealth of local knowledge.
What is Converse County Conversations?
You might be wondering what to expect from a video podcast hosted by “Your Favorite Country Girl Realtor.” This isn’t a sales pitch. It’s a series of long-form interviews that dive into the “why” behind local businesses and the “how” behind our historic ranches. By imbedding these videos here and on YouTube, I hope to create a digital archive of our local history that anyone can access, whether they’ve lived here for eighty years or eight days.
How to Get Involved in the Storytelling
A community is only as strong as the stories it shares, and I know I’ve only scratched the surface. My father knew the story behind every gas station we passed, and I want to develop that same “storytelling eye” for Converse County. But to do that, I need your help.
Maybe you know a rancher with a century’s worth of wisdom, a new business owner shaking things up in Douglas, or a neighbor who just has a tale that needs to be heard. I’m looking for the “everything in between” that makes Wyoming, Wyoming.
I am officially opening the floor for nominations and ideas. If you have a story that belongs on Converse County Conversations, or if you know someone who does, I want to hear from you. This podcast is a labor of love to ensure our local history isn’t just something we remember, but something we record and celebrate together. Drop a comment on the trailer video or send me a message—let’s get to work rooting this community even deeper.
